Old Feral Cat Couldn’t Love, Until He Was Given New Friends
Mason was an old feral cat who was fighting advanced kidney failure. He was given a new chance at life, but didn’t want to be touched until he was given new kitten friends to love.
Often feral cats that are captured are put down due to shelters who have limited spaces and resources for animals who may be sick. Mason was an old feral cat battling kidney failure as well as multiple injuries and abscessed teeth. Instead of the expected response, TinyKittens decided to give Mason a chance at life. Over time, he began to respond positively to living indoors and having plenty of kitty food and toys. However, Mason still refused to be petted and when touched would respond negatively. His foster family continued to love on him the best way they could, by offering him a place to call home.
Eventually, they brought home some foster kittens. Mason’s reaction to the new babies was unexpected.
He was calm and allowed them to climb on him like a surrogate parent. It wasn’t too long before the kitties made their way into Mason’s bed, and heart, as they settled down for a sweet nap.
