It was such a tragedy. Jessica Woodruff’s barn caught fire and she lost many of her animals, including an entire litter of puppies. Mama dog, Daisy mourned the loss of her three-week-old babies. After the incident, Daisy was one depressed dog, and understandably so.
In her panic, Daisy even tried to run into the burning barn to save her pups!
She wouldn’t eat, and she would take heartbreaking walks down to the barn and cry. We hope that no one comes to know the grief that Daisy felt.
Jessica wanted to help Daisy recover from her loss so she set out to do something completely amazing. She went to Facebook to look for abandoned puppies that needed foster care, and that’s when she met a woman named Lorna Murphy.
Lorna had a dog that died while giving birth to her eight puppies. They needed a mother to nurse them, so Jessica and Lorna introduced the pairs of pups. What happened next is truly heart melting.
The void in Daisy’s heart was filled by nurturing and caring for the orphaned pups. It brought the life back to her and she started wagging her tail again.

Daisy and her new pups were a match made in heaven. This just goes to show that sometimes when your heart is too heavy to live, one of the best things to do is to try to give a little something of it to someone else in need. By doing just that, Daisy found healing for her own heart.
