Abandoned Pony Was Sad Until Owners Gave Him A Friend
Breeze, an abandoned pony, had a rough start to life but with the help of his special friend, Buttons, he has grown into a beautiful horse!
The little newborn pony was found in Dartmoor National Park where he had collapsed from fatigue and hunger. With no mother to be found, the orphan pony was taken to a local rescue to see if they could save him. It was here that he was named Breeze. But even with loving care, little Breeze was very sad. While he was getting healthier and stronger every day, he was obviously struggling with companionship. His rescuers decided to try giving him a giant stuffed bear named Buttons as a stall-mate.
It wasn’t long before Breeze was reacting to the teddy bear like a surrogate mother. The abandoned pony would snuggle up to the bear, often falling asleep in it’s lap. Finally, Breeze was able to find comfort and peace thanks to Buttons.

Now Breeze is a bit older and doesn’t need Buttons. But that doesn’t mean he’s turning his back on his companion. According to the Mare and Foal Sanctuary, Breeze still loves a nice long nap with Buttons by his side. Since his time as a shy pony, Breeze is apparently doing well making pony friends now.
“He’s really thriving in the open spaces of North Devon, he’s also settled into a large herd and spends hours playing with the other youngsters” says Tracy Dixon, yard manager.
Bravo, Breeze! We are excited to see how this pony continues to progress into a gorgeous fella.
