Hero Boy Catches Baby Brother
9-year-old Joseph Levi is being called a hero. When you watch the viral video as this boy catches baby brother, I’m sure you’ll agree he is!
Tila Levi is the mom of five children. She was about to change her 11-month-old when she turned her attention for mere seconds to one of her other children. That’s when the infant on the changing table attempted to roll over onto his stomach. Unfortunately, the tall table was a little too narrow for the baby to roll over and he began to fall.
Divine Intervention
That’s when big brother Joseph describes what could only be divine intervention, as he did something he didn’t think he was capable of doing on his own.
“I would have never caught him. I can’t run that fast,” said big brother Joseph. “So, I felt like something just came and pushed me forward, and when it happened, I just ran and caught him.”
Joseph is also in awe that he was not only able to catch his 30 lb. sibling, but also to hold onto him without dropping him until his mom could help. “I would never be able to do that again because I can’t carry my brother,” he said.
Tila also believes that divine intervention was at work that day. “It’s almost like someone pushed him and said, ‘Go do what you gotta do,’” she said. “I’m a believing person. I believe in God. I do believe in miracles. I’d just never seen one firsthand, like, in front of my face.”
Mom’s Warning to Help Others
While most people watching the video focus on Joseph’s heroism, some blame the mom for being careless. Tila accepts that she was careless for a few seconds, but adds that this could happen to any parent. She herself shared the video of the incident as a reminder to all parents to remain alert.
Tila is filled with relief and gratitude that her son was able to help their family avoid a tragedy. “I was just getting everyone ready for bed. I was home alone with the five kids.”
“At first I said, I messed up. I did something wrong, but then I realized that, really, it was a miracle. I must have done something right to have been deserving of this little guy, running in at the right time and catching him at the right moment.” Tila shared.
