Ellen’s Post- Election Message Will Inspire
Ellen Degeneres is known for being uplifting and injecting much-needed humor into situations. And Ellen’s post-election message was no different.
“Well, well, well,” she starts off, “the election is finally over. I don’t want to know the results, don’t tell me. Don’t spoil it, it’s on my DVR.” she joked at the start. And while much of her message is downright hilarious, pointing out how we all fall asleep watching Netflix and wake up not knowing what episode or season we’ve ended up sleeping through, some of her comments are very poignant. And both the humor and sincerity are just what we need to see after such a stressful election season.
Ellen shared, “People have been very passionate about this race, and I think it’s because we all love our country. We just have different ideas about what’s best for it, which is part of what makes America great. I believe we can all come together because if you take away the labels, you’ll realize that we’re all far more alike than we are different.”
“We have so much in common our differences actually make us stronger. We need to have kindness and respect for one another,” Ellen said, but then joked, “except for. . . the people that leave the shopping carts in the middle of your parking spot. Out of the country! Kick them out of the country!”
“Whether you relate to an elephant or a donkey, I think animals set the best example for how we should all get along.” Ellen remarked before sharing an adorable compilation of unlikely animal BFFs, like this sweet dog who helps his kitty friend go fishing.
